When I gaze upon his face, There I see through the windows of his soul. In his eyes a silver twinkle, And his lips stretched in half a smile. He say words like "Icare..." Then gaze at me in that special way. Then he embrace my hand in his, Insistantly, saying "I love you more than you'll ever know." I close my eyes and think of him, In candy coated feelings and hot chocolate dreams. Just like the way he'd walk beside me Under a jewelled night sky, And meet at sunrise, With a glance and a sigh. And when all's said and done, And the years have come and gone. But the twinkle in his eyes never dims, never dies. And when my eyes, they flickered wide opened. Not a stir, not a sign, As it was only a dream, And my face awash with silent tears.
