You promised me;
when I glanced up
at the untucked settling of
milky dust,
of a prefabricated image of love,
of an understated beauty forming...
something else was being written,
something left behind
a Tic-Tac-Toe trail, maybe.
Where the eagels
were the kisses
with their unclipped, mahogany wings
winning out;
circling in your presence
of statement and design.
Fattening in spaces you left behind
of such natural things
upon the bosom of this ethereal high.
As I drew in an opalescence claim,
this afternoon sky had promise
of more beautiful citrine
and tangerine hook rug Fall days.
I felt in your plight of artistry!
A Picasso with wings
fallen upon me;
or a whipping cream labyrinth
you posed on an uneventful sky day.
An endearment;
"the big Etch-A-Sketch"
on the Robin egg blue...
signed, sealed and delivered!
