Profile: My name is Therese. There are many words -- and yet at the same
time, a lack of-- words to describe both myself and my work.. I can only note
that passion feeds the soul, which brings the power of words forward. Should the
fire and the ability to express this passion be blocked in any way, my very soul withers.
I do hope you enjoy my writings, as they are the very core of my world, and the
world that surrounds me.
Heavy like the autumn air Lungs that burn and breathe your fire Luscious swoops, swirls, forbidden smoke that curls Above my head like a child's fingers in flowing hair The day knows not; feeds the pain The lukewarm rain pours Like brain damaged births - unwanted Disappear towards the night in hunger Peel the clothes, tossing them, escape Anger spills like ink on a page of dreams Droplets that stain, that burn, that scar And words that fire from your mouth Spew like acid towards my very core So I stand frozen: I let them hit me Let them leer, let them stare, let them pass me Let them beat me, and let them rape me But still, you are my blood And I fight you, and I despise you Hostile and burning, I bottle it and seal it And we speak softly in company, politely in public But I know your demons, I do And the lines in your face have grown deeper Like slashes of the knives you've thrown at me And I find your empty shallow minutes pulsing to the rythms of my favorite escape And the room closes in on me, stale and silent For nothing NOTHING Rids me of your presence, my absentee father
