Nothing I regret? well, nearly- on every occasion I’m starting to rue my company- I am a Dedalus but that is acceptable, he made it to here now a block from an epitome I shared so goddamn far from here I’ve been immersed in the rank and file- the unfortunate and misbegotten- my fortunes have started down a slippery slope since that one freestanding, aggregate evening- which is perhaps too elegant a word- it stings to hang a left while you’re still climbing, the relevance has hit me this way: I pretend that you are here sometimes I tiptoe as not to disturb you I gingerly open the door to view the respiring form under my blanket I’m starting to lose your memory you are an archetypal emotion, arcane issues unresolved, the aria that levels me even in the best of spirits, a hollow victory for my better judgment- I have to admonish myself for this mirage of your being inches from my own- only in imagination now and I know nothing great was ever reaped from caution
