Poetry

Insomnia, I'm all alone in a dark, dark room.

The sounds of movement awaken me.

From the other side of my door a slow moving foot

Being placed on the floor of the wooden hall,

There, a fiendish man does walk

To take my life away he plans.

He breathes deeply to increase his strength,

His size,

His determination.

He is all in black, right down to his heart,

Oh, how dark does he move.

Oh, how much evil he does think.

Sensing the evil and the darkness,

I reach for my gun; Gone...

A dark man hid it.

I reach for my knife; Gone...

A dark man holds it.

I reach for my club; Gone...

A dark man anticipates my every move.

Scrutinises my every move, as if from the inside.

My last resort to escape this darkness, light.

The dark, dark room is lit,

Chasing away the dark, dark man to a deep, deep place...
