It dawned on me just this eve That now is the perfect time to leave I can't tell about boys that act sweet Maybe they need to be drugged and beat But Mother always said to me: "God wants you to be happy and free" Well, things just aren't that easy
Went to the clergyman the other day Trying to cast the demons away Nightmares were haunting me again Damning me with this painful yen And Mother promised in her way: "Just suffer to live to another day" But I can't stand to stay
Went to the chapel to become your wife Left the building without a life Tried to ask why you hurt me so Replied: "Because you won't let go" And as if my Mother knew every veracity: "Your pain is you capacity"
